To help ensure that all members have the best communications from the club and within the club we would like to remind everyone that all the messages from the committee are detailed in News Bulletins three or four times a year which list the rally schedules and leaders, the general meetings, coffee mornings and other social events run by committee members. These are sent out to all members by email and put on our website. (please ensure that your correct email address is held by the club)
There is a WhatsApp group which connects all members and is very helpful for rally leaders to communicate with other boats. This group is also extremely good for member-to-member chat which can include news of recent trips, letting others know of trips planned and see if others are doing similar, recommendations of good destinations, requests for advice or assistance with all aspects of boats and boating -the list is endless. If you do not see this group then send your mobile number to Geoff Baker who will add you to the group – all members are welcome even if not a regular rally participant.
The Club Membership Directory is updated annually and has name, boat name, berth, telephone number and MMSI no. (if provided).
Premier Marinas are improving their newsletters, both the group and specific Universal newsletters keep us to date, make sure you have an email registered with Premier.
In addition there are several other good sources of boating chat that all members may benefit from.
‘Solent Boating’ is an active good Facebook group for local boating https://www.facebook.com/groups/solentboating
‘Active Hamble Boat Group‘ is an interesting and quite factual Facebook group hosted by our local training expert, Mike at Aboard Boat Coaching https://www.facebook.com/groups/211802847756598/
Premier has a couple of Facebook groups https://www.facebook.com/PremierUniversalMarina
